Presentation of the 3D model of the the Shirvanshahs' Palace

Laser scanning of cultural and historical heritage objects in Icherisheher was made by the German company EKM Global Consulting GmbH and the 3D Scanning Project startup. In 1964, the complex was declared a museum-reserve and taken under state protection. And in 2000, the symbol of Baku - the legendary Maiden Tower, the historical part of the city protected by fortress walls, as well as the unique Palace ensemble of the Shirvanshahs were included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. 2020 marks the 20th anniversary of that significant event. It was for this anniversary that work was carried out to scan 3D models of two pearls of Azerbaijani architecture - the Maiden Tower and the Palace complex of the Shirvanshahs. According to the founder of the 3D Scanning Project startup, designer Sabina Zulalova, in the 21st century 3D laser scanning technology is successfully used in architecture, allowing to preserve complete information about unique historical objects for future generations.
